RV Software Reviews
These are some of the software programs that HitchUpandGo recommends to fellow RVers. They have been reviewed and selected as the Editor’s Choice. They are all products that make our lives easier and have been proven to be some of the best out there. It is software that we use ourselves at HitchUpandGo. We wouldn’t recommend anything that we didn’t truly believe in.
Roboform
Password Keeper Software
RoboForm is one of those products that once you start using it, you wonder how you ever got by without it. It is so much more than just a great place to store all of your passwords. You can also store all of your personal information there as well. In fact, you can have it keep anything that you can type into it.
Not only does it store all of this information but, it enters it into website forms for you as you need it. This is a lot safer that typing the information manually. It can also generate random passwords when you need a new one. No need to know or remember it since that is what you have RoboForm for.
All your information is encrypted to keep it completely safe from unauthorized users or hackers. You just need to remember one master password and RoboForm keeps track of all the rest for you.
I personally use the Roboform and RoboForm2Go versions. You install RoboForm2Go on a portable USB drive. When you need to use it just plug it in. When you remove it, no information is left behind. This is great if you need to use RoboForm on several different machines.
I may sound like I am rambling on about this program but, as you can see I think this is one program that everyone should own. This is truly one of the few program that I can't live without.
Quicken
Personal Finance Manager
Quicken is one of those programs that has not only made my life easier but, also provided some sanity to doing “the bills”. I don’t know how anyone could manage their finances without some sort of software, either online or a standalone product like Quicken.
Quicken gives you the ability to manage all of your accounts in a single program. It also allows you to budget your money and stay on top of your bills. You will always know how much money you have, where it is going and when you spend it. I highly recommend Quicken to help you manage your money.
BigOven
Recipe Organizer
I set off in search of the best recipe organizer. We have used various programs in the past and it was time to jump into something new. What I found was a program called BigOven. Not only is BigOven an award winning recipe organizer but, it is also part of a very popular website.
The software allows you to do the usual adding, editing, organizing, and printing of all your favorite recipes. It is very user friendly and simple to use. It provides you with everything you will need to manage all of those family treasures.
The added bonus of the BigOven website gives you a place to search for new and exciting recipes. The software also gives you the ability to share your recipes by posting them online for others to enjoy.
Microsoft Streets & Trips
Map Software
Streets & Trips is a great program for getting you to your next campsite. You can use it with your current GPS device or purchase a version that includes a GPS locator to use along with the software. It is easy to use and does not require the internet as you travel.
At HitchUpandGo we use Streets & Maps to plan out all of our trips in advance. We map out each campground along the way and how long we plan on staying. The program lets us know how many miles, how much time is required, construction areas, height restrictions, the travel cost and even when we will need fuel.
Around any given point we can find places to eat, things to see and activities to do. We can see our entire trip before we even start out on the road. Once we get going we can easily change course at any time. We may feel like getting off the beaten path and enjoying some scenery for a bit.
Microsoft Streets & Maps is an invaluable tool for all RVers to have at their disposal.

IDrive
IDrive
If you have a computer then you most likely have data on that computer you would miss when something catastrophic were to happen to it. It isn’t a question of if it will happen. It’s a question of when it will happen, because it always does.
You may experience hardware problems. You may mistakenly delete a file that you now badly need. It is also possible that you may just loose you computer all together. Whatever the case may be, you want to be sure that the data on your PC is safe.
The best way to do that is to use an online backup service. These services are safe and secure. It is a great solution for those of us on the go. You will however need to have a fast internet connection to use them. You also want keep an eye on the amount of data you are backing up. I advise only backing up the files that are critical to you. Other files can be easily replaced later.
At HitchUpandGo we have tried several different services and IDrive is the most straight forward of them all. It is easy to configure. You can backup as little or as much data as you need. They even have a basic version that allows you to backup 5 GB of data for Free.
